SELECT
Students who meet minimum criteria at the end of their summer term as a first time applicant are admitted after submitting an application
Semester preference is honored based on rank (Science GPA, # of courses completed at AU)
All students should be prepared to begin either summer of fall cohorts of the following year.
HOLISTIC
Students who meet eligibility criteria at the time of application cycle but require additional information in order to be considered.
Semester preference is honored based on rank (Science GPA, # of courses completed at AU, Interview/Essay Scores)
All students should be prepared to begin either summer of fall cohorts of the following year.
EXTENDED
Students who intentionally space out courses and choose to add a minor of choice to their curriculum. They will apply the subsequent year.
Select Criteria
Holistic Criteria

Course Retake Policy
Course Retakes taken at Auburn University
When a student retakes a science course at AU, the most recent grade will replace the previous grade in the same course.
-
This includes equivalent courses previously taken at other institutions.
-
Only the second attempt at AU will be considered for admission purposes. If a student attempts the course more than twice, any subsequent grades will not be included in admission consideration.
Course Retakes at Other Institutions
When a student retakes a science course at another institution, all grades earned (original and retake) will be averaged together for admission consideration.
Example:
First Attempt at AU: D (3 credit hour course)
Second Attempt at CC: A (3 credit hour course)
-
Grades averaged together: D (1 quality pt), A (4 quality pt)/ 2 grades= 2.5 (3 credit hour course)
